As an employee of Exelon Nuclear for 20+ years, I have been in need of excellent alignment and vibration analysis personnel. In 2008, upon transferring from Exelon west to Exelon east, I needed an eastern contact for alignment personnel. I contacted a Pruftechnik rep, my preferred Midwest contact; Deron’s name was given to me. This site has suffered over 30-years with a problem associated with the turbine-driven feed pump. Deron was brought in to troubleshoot and analyze. With his knowledge and experience, he was able to solve this problem performing a multi-train laser alignment and saving the site future costly repairs.

Deron used Permalign equipment to show us how shaft alignment changed as our unit warmed and cooled. We were then able to quickly incorporate this into alignment moves that reduced vibration. His Rotalign gear saved us days, in comparison to a traditional dial indicator alignment approach. Deron’s knowledge, and the speed and accuracy of his equipment were critical to our success.
